Lygia is an incredible teacher and tailors classes for what you need, practically and personally, she adapts fast and has had informative and useful answers to all of my questions. She really builds the lessons and structure to your needs, and I appreciate that she also challenges me, which has helped me in substantial ways with my Portuguese. Our lessons are not only incredibly educational, but are also easygoing, relaxed, and I feel comfortabl e within them. Like I'm just talking to a friend over a cup of tea. Without any hesitation, I would suggest Lygia as a teacher, and am looking forward to going through my Portuguese journey with her. Muito obrigada, amiga!

Lygia is really personable and prepared for each lesson. She provides materials, excellent lessons, and homework assignments to practice outside of lessons. With her help, my Portuguese improved drastically. I 100% recommend taking a lesson with Lygia!

Lygia has been great after three lessons. She was more than willing to meet me where I am at with my Portuguese learning and consistently asks for input on specific things that I want to cover. She is very knowledgeable about the linguistics side of things and because she is fluent in portuguese, spanish and english has been able to effectively relate all three to help me understand topics better. She is personable and has graciously been flexible with schedule when she was able. I highly recommend taking classes with Lygia!

Great lesson with lots of examples tailored for my travel to Brazil!

Lygia is so sociable, bubbly, patient and helpful. Her classes are fun and engaging and I learn so much with each lesson. She also gives me homework and resources to look at after each lesson to reinforce what I learned. Additionally, she teaches through Portuguese which helps me to pick up on new words and phrases quickly  and get used to listening to the language. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn Portuguese or Spanish.
